Help How do I update my Note to the latest firmware

The simplest way would be to use KIES.

Download / Install the latest version of KIES on your laptop.

Then connect your Galaxy Note to the laptop using a Samsung USB cable.

When KIES connects to your phone and discovers an older version of Firmware on your Galaxy Note it will inform you to download the latest version of the Firmware via KIES.

Just follow the onscreen directions ( which largely does not need you to do anything ) and your firmware will be automatically updated.

The safest and easiest way is to take it to your nearest Samsung service centre. It's risk free and they will do it for nothing

Just to build on the sergeant’s good advice it might be as well to bear in mind that your personal data is retained during the upgrade. It might be as well to backup the device and wipe any confidential data before hand.

Kies says there is NO update for my phone, even tough it's on Android 2.3.6
By the way, my phone has the brazil signature on it, so I don't think it's been rolled out to the Brazil region. Even tough I am in the US...... :(

How do I force an update?

thanks
