Hello and welcome to Android Forums MattAV2013! :)

You do not say, or link to, which particular custom ROM you are referring to, so I will be general.

There are a couple of types of kitchen for custom ROM's. The first, and the one I think you are referring to, is the online, DIY, ROM that you can choose the various components or add-on's that you want and these are then made available for you to download as a flashable .zip file which you install via CWM Recovery.

The other type is a basic ROM that is downloaded and flashed via CWM Recovery and after installation there is a kitchen wihin the ROM that you can use to download and install add-on's.

Both of these types of ROM's usually come with precise installation instructions.

UPDATE... I have found the UOT ROM kitchen on the web and, as I thought, it is an online custom ROM add-on's, as detailed above. There is also an extremely detailed, "How To", guide on there for noobs with a video and a section on installing your custom ROM add-on's .zip file.

It would appear that you need to be on either a GB, ICS or JB ROM to begin with and then select your add-on customisations which come to you as a flashable .zip file which you place on your phone's root memory and go into Recovery mode and flash.

Oh wow thanks alot, Sorry what i mean is that i am on no rom and do not want one that someone has made, like i make my rom on the UOT Kitchen and when i get to the end i have to upload my system files... but i don't know how to do that when i'm on just a rooted normal jellybean update.
What i thought is that i could use rootexplorer on my phone and find these files and then upload them to the online kitchen.
Is this possible?
Once i've done that and downloaded it will it delete anything?
And do i just load it up on the CWN app?
Sorry for all the questions just a complete noob basically, with the tutorials i've seen not making much sense or what i'm exactly looking for.
Thanks alot for you time.
BTW - Love your SGS2 rooting guide :D helped me out 100% with no error, clean and safe!

I'm afraid I've never used UOT ROM/Kitchen MattAV2013... and am probably not likely to either having glanced through it. It seems that you need to jump through hoops with extracting system framework, etc; and IMHO, it is not worth the effort and certainly not something that I would recommend for a beginner at all. If you do decide to pursue this ROM, I would strongly recommend doing both a nandroid and Titanium backups as well as the efs file, as described in the Dummies Guide, just to be on the safe side.

Also I see references to the HTC Desire and Sensation as well as the T989 and T999 in the xda threads, here and here. Even I am thoroughly confused by this set-up!

Personally, I would be inclined to go for something a little more straightforward and up-to-date. Such as the latest NEAT ROM LSS Full which is very stable and popular on here.
