Help How do I wipe my phone

VM cant figure out why my 3G does not work consistently (has not worked well since I bought it in March) thus they are sending me a new phone. How do I wipe the old phone prior to return ?

I believe you can just go under settings, privacy and do a factory data reset it erases all the data on the phone and resets it to how it was when you first got it.
