Help How do the car dock apps work?

I dont have any idea how android devices work with car stereos. Not even sure what a car dock app is, all I know is when I plug the phone via USB I get a cannot play message from my jvc stereo.

Basically what I'm wanting to do is be able to play music via the stereo, but wouldn't mind being able to use the stereo for other functions as well (calls, general sound) . How is this done with an Android device more specifically Triumph.

I use mine with the headphone jack and an aux input on my car stereo. You can also use bluetooth.

You can't do anything via usb with your car stereo.

With any VM phones unless it is rooted you will only be able to use bluetooth for handsfree calling, with headsets and cars. All other functions have been restricted, when I have asked why they would not give me an answer. I also asked why it is not printed anywhere in any user manual, and they avoided answering that in my questions.

If there are restrictions, shouldn't VM be responsible to tell their customers?

Interesting. I saw your thread about using Bluetooth with your car stereo and someone said they aren't restricted and you can do those things. How did you come to the conclusion that you can't?

Straight from Virgin Mobile, you can find Apps that allows root access (so i am told) but the only for sure way I know of is Rooting. I asked Virgin why I could not connect to my car to steam music, and they told me they do not enable it on their devices, and it is the same answer I got when I asked about the keyboard I bought, which on Motorola's website they had listed the Triumph as a compatible device..

And they just said the same thing out of a script, the whole "we're sorry for any inconvenience... " and then said: "The Virgin Mobile bluetooth can only be used as a hand-free device"

And every time ask why they do not answer directly, really annoying, so I gave up and rooted my phone, no regrets :D
