Root How do you get Apps in ROMS?

Maybe I am not getting it...but there is no app market in the Droid Does 1.1 ROM...so how do I get apps?

Also...it is not letting me sync my contacts and other things into my phone.

go to the thread on XDA where you d/l the rom from....... scroll down to where it says Downloads: youll see the link to d/l the rom......... right below that youll see a link to d/l Google Apps......... d/l this file and flash it
