Help How do you keep apps when switching phones?

I know you can Titanium Backup your apps to SD card, but that shouldn't work in a new phone.

Just wondering...

when you set up the new phone with your gmail id, it will know what apps you have. you can then dl them to the new phone.

of course no data daved will come, thats where titanium comes into play.
copy your backup to the pc, then copy frrom the pc to the knew phone
install titanium on new phone and re-install

well this is how ive read about it being done, never tried it

Google will remember your paid apps, and as far as TB goes, I'm not sure if it works from phone to phone. There's mybackuppro also but again, not too sure.

But don't they all backup to your SD card? which would not be present on your new phone? Anyone know the names of TiB backups so I could try copying to PC?
