Root How do you know if you have Root?

I used the SuperOneClick method to Root and it said it worked. I have a SuperUser Pirate icon. When I try to to a restore from Bootstrap it says it can't find files even though when I backed up it said Success!

So how do I know if my X is rooted?

I had the same issue, you have to make the backup from the recovery screen.
Bootstrap Recovery just makes it so the next time you power cycle or lose power to your phone, it goes into Reboot Recovery.
Read through this, you'll see the light as I did. :D

I was looking for this thread as I recalled you had this issue too. I couln't find it though so thanks. It worked! Why is that Recovery button on the app anyway? Now on to figure out theming!

Quickest way to tell if you are rooted:

Have terminal emulator installed (you should anyway, it's the most useful app ever created)

Text prompt will be a "$" sign

Type "su"

Text prompt will change to a "#" sign if you are rooted. If not you are not rooted.

Then this confirms it (although I suspected as much), I am rooted! Although me with a terminal emulator = dangerous. I should probably uninstall it now before I totally hose the device.
