Root how do you know you rooted

i just did the one step root. all the stuff on the screen said i am rooted but the phone didnt reboot or change in any way. i changed windows phones and there is always a reboot or something. how do i know if it is rooted.

Install and launch a terminal emulator from the Market. Type 'su'. If the prompt changes from a '$' to a '#' you're rooted.

Or ... download and install any app that requires root. Fire it up and it will tell you if there's an error or not. I recommend anyone who roots to install Titanium Backup IMMEDIATELY. That app will tell you if you have root or not. Then you can start doing backups of apps and their associated data. I also highly recommend paying for the 'PRO' version of that app. Worth it's weight in gold.
