Help How do you read a message that doesn't exist on your phone?

I own a LG Revolution with Verizon Wireless as my carrier. Now I received a text message from a friend while I was deleting my inbox and some how the message still shows up in my notification bar but when I click on it, the message sends me to a "new" or "blank" message screen. Any suggestions on how to get rid of this unreadable text message? I've tried "clearing" the notification bar and it only works for a short period of time then comes back. Any suggestions please?

Problem fixed!!! Turns out for some odd reason that the message was in a different thread with a different person. It's all back to normal but it's easily the weirdest thing that has happened on my LG Revolution (so far). Thanks anyway

I have the exact same problem.... How did you fix it? How do you find out what "thread" it's on?
