Help How Do You Remove Service From Your Device?

So I'm looking to get rid of my Motorola Triumph for an HTC Inspire 4G on Straight Talk $45 plan. Thing is, I need to remove service from my phone, I don't want to cancel it yet, due to the fact that I want to keep my number when I switch over. I need to sell the Triumph before I can purchase the Inspire, if anyone can help me out, I'd really appreciate it.

The only way would be to transfer your number to another device whether it be a VM phone or not. You might find some cheap prepaid VM phone and transfer the number to that phone.

Dunno if you can do that without getting a different device to put on the plan in its place.
