you need to unlock the bootloader,then install a recovery,then flash superuser root files.

the GPE is slightly different than other HTC pphones since you do not need htcdevs website to do the unlocking. you basically just place the phone in fastboot,and enter in cmd:

fastboot oem unlock

you can use this guide:

just ignore the bit about needing an htcdev account,and when you get to the command fastboot oem get_identifier_token ignore that,and enter fastboot oem unlock instead. then go on to step 2

ive been meanign to do something for the forum here,ill try and get something wrote in in a few days for others needing it
