Help How do you turn off email notifications?

[Hand76]

I just want notifications for text messages. But I don't see any options to turn off the notification for just emails. I looked under sound and notifications but can't find it.

These are different programs-------------------------

<Gmail Notifications> can be CHECKED on/off and set-ringtone (in) the Gmail client settings.
menu, settings, email notifications

same with Messages client.
menu, settings, scroll down to Recieved Notifications and ALOT more to play with there.

<Email Notifications> in Email client
menu, more, settings, notification settings (3 items to set)

After turning off notifications for the mail program you can take your account off of it too and this should prevent the notifications for coming up from it and stop it from using resources.
