How do you uninstall power control widget ?

Searched all over the forums and internet for an answer but came up blank.

I downloaded an app called power control and installed it. It screwed up my contact list so I wanted to uninstall it. Not just remove it from my desktop, but full uninstall is what I'm after.

Did a search for it in the android market and could not find it anywhere again to uninstall it that way.

Tried using Astro File Manager to uninstall but does not show up there.

The only place it shows up on my phone is in the bottom menu bar ( menu, phone, + ) I hit + -----> widgets ------> power control.

Anybody have an ideas on how to uninstall this thing ?

The power control widget comes with the phone.

Perhaps you never installed it in the first place and you are confused?

It screwed up your contact list? What do you mean?

thx

So, have you tried going to Settings-->apps--->manage apps-->
then click the app. there should be a button that says "uninstall." click it.

You cannot uninstall power control, among others, as they are built in software. I'm guessing something else you installed has caused problems with your contact list. Go into the marketplace, click menu, then downloads, see what you've installed that might interact with your contact list and try uninstalling that. If all else fails you can always factory reset and start over.

Good luck!

I am going to assume you installed a power control widget from the market, and you are not using the stock android one.

Go back into the market and hit the menu>downloads then find the app, select it and then select uninstall.

hmmmm....... could of swore I installed it from the droid market.. No wonder I can't find it there or remove it. Thanks for the quick response.

I installed it and removed it from my desktop.. Got a call right after that and my contact list was totally gone.. Had to export over again from gmail.

Been doing so much with this phone just I did get a bit confused.. Thanks again !

That wouldn't have anything to do with the Power Control widget. The timing was just a coincidence.

That sucks about losing your contacts though.

I think you're probably confusing the power control widget with another app you downloaded. Care to share what you're running/downloaded?
