Help How do you ZOOM on the camera

I can't find a slide control or a button to zoom. I am sure I am missing it. Can anyone direct to the right spot on how to zoom ? Thanks for your help.

I also found out you can zoom using your fingers on the screen to "pinch" and zoom. When I use tools though such as focus mode, timer, effects, etc...I pull up the screen and when I tap the button for the tool I want to use, nothing happens. Any ideas ???
