How does one get unbanned?

Hi all, long time viewer first time poster. I've owned my fascinate for about a month and look to this forum for advice and information as there is a lot of information to gain from the knowledgeable people on this website. Anyways, as I mentioned earlier, I've never posted before, so I was confused when a couple days ago I attempted to log on from home to find that my IP address was banned. There was no explanation as to why. (Luckily I can still get on from my phone ;)) Can anyone help me by telling me how to get unbanned? I've really appreciate it!

P.S. I've sent multiple messages to the "administrator" with no reply... so I'm out of ideas.

We were all warned about you !!:)

Who's the one that forgot to block Eric phone?:p
Who's gonna get him out now !
I can't believe this place now lets Eric's in:rolleyes:.
What's next Gingers?:D

Can I poke my nose in here and say on the forums where I moderate we've found it unwise to ban IP ranges for this very reason, innocents get caught in the net :) (I moderate on Backyardchickens.com and the sister forums, among others, including Brighthand.com).

You weren't really banned. If you were really banned, the last thing you would have seen would have been

the dreaded ban cow.

It was unlikely to be a range block, more likely a dynamic IP that was previously used to spam the forum. IP ranges are only blocked after much consideration by the admins.

Would that mean that somebody hacked into my wireless network? I'm slightly concerned about the thought of that.

No, don't worry :)

An IP address isn't a fixed thing like a normal address, it's just something given to you by your internet provider and it changes regularly.

So at one point a spammer had your IP address, but a few months later down the line your ISP gave it to your router in stead. Chances are that if you hadn't come to android forums for another few weeks you'd have had a different IP and wouldn't have been banned.

... unless, you had a static IP address, in which case, there might be some foul play:eek:

I have a dynamic IP address to the best of my knowledge.. Xyro, thank you kindly for putting that into perspective. Thanks to all for the help and input!!
