How good is this phone?

I am thinking of getting this phone. How is it? Anyone have problems? I am also thinking of getting the victory but like the current price of the f3 both phones have about the same specs other than the fron camera which i don't really care about.

Any thoughts?

I've had the F3 since last Monday and so far it's my favorite phone I've ever had. It's fast, smooth and when you can get 4G it's awesome.

I'm on f3/victory fence as well. So far my largest concern is the lack of activity on this forum. Maybe the phone is still too new???

I'm on a LG Optimus Elite and thinking of going to this phone in the future. Concerned about no posts in this forum as well. I also wonder if it is because phone is too new.

i ordered the F3 and am returning my victory. not impressed. just switched from the evo v 4g. victory seems slow and laggy and not really worth $200 in my opnion. my F3 is waiting for me at home just came today. i will try to post a unprofessional comparison.

and hes right, i doubt the developers will concentrate as much on the LG as the samsung, but whatever. ive yet to run a community devoloped rom on any of my half dozen+ android phones. maybe soon.

after the evo, battery life is a bigger deal to me now, really got sick of having to charge my phone twice a day even with a new battery. the LG has a higher capacity battery then the victory which was already lasting longer then my evo

You know I must be one of the few people who has never had battery issues on the 3D. Granted, I am in Wi-Fi coverage 90% of time so that helps. I rarely need to charge earlier than 15 hours, and often have a good 30% after 18 hours. Of course, this means nothing without comparing actual usage. It is quite likely I just use my phone less than others.

I just got this phone. Currently I'm rooted and running CWM via 2nd init. I'm looking into a better way to do this. One word of caution. Do not try to go into stock recovery. It factory resets the device automatically. If you want my Dev history look me up on xda under same username

I rooted my F3 a few days ago but didn't try to put a recovery on it yet. I'm gonna wait until there is a little more attention for it. Hopefully it won't be long.

my unprofessional comparison (to the samsung victory)/first impressions

LG is seems kind of alot smaller and lighter even though its only small differences

LG camera takes pictures much faster, but seem slightly worse clarity

cannot common on battery life yet - expecting better with the lg

the F3 aprears to have light sensor, but theres no option for auto-brightness that ive found yet?

samsungs lcd vs LGs IPS lcd - dont notice any +/- right now

F3 FEELS faster and more responsive right now, loading apps, texting fast etc..

wish the F3's center button was softkey

F3 has no camera button, not sure if this will annoy me yet..

STILL CANT EASILY TAKE SCREEN SHOT LIKE I COULD WITH MY EVO V!!!

I thought I read it had QuickMemo app on it. If so, press the volume rocker in the middle so both up/down volume is pressed at the same time and that should do the screenshot.

Does Volume+Power Button at the same time not work? That is the default for all ICS and above and LG would have had to purposely remove it. On the Evo 3D you could do it that way, or you could hold Power Button then the Home button. This method was added by Sense.

With root now available and Link2SD, this phone is looking like a great value. Sort of sad that I jumped on the Victory a few weeks ago.

Just got this phone yesterday and overall I am very happy with it. It was also quick and easy to root.

My initial impressions:

Pros:
-Great price
-Fast
-Fast 4G
-Qslide is pretty neat, but I probably won't use it much
-I like the Led light around the home button
-Gorilla glass 2
-Comes with very little bloat
-The Quick Memo feature is pretty neat, but I also probably won't use it much
-Comes with Android 4.1.2 which is fairly current.
-great battery life (so far)

Cons:
-plastic casing feels very cheap, definitely buy a case
-soft buttons for the back and menu and a physical button for home is kinda strange to me
-external speaker is rather meh

Thinking I could get away with the grandfathered $25 per month from Virgin, I picked this up yesterday to replace my Optimus V with GingerSnap ROM. But, had to update to the $35 a month, but I get the 4G. Still worth it with the 2.5 GB cap before bandwidth throttling... Most other plans here in Hawaii have caps of under 1GB!

I rooted with Motorchopper super easy!

The battery time is like twice the capacity as the O.V.

Compared to O.V. the F3 blows it away! And once we get a good ROM made I'm sure we can over clock this a little higher if need be, but I'm just playing streaming music or reading news...

The F3 is really light, its made of mostly plastic. I'm the type of person puts these things in your pocket and forget about it, so it may be a little fragile... Got a case ordered just in case. Case closed! :P

Nice phone

Thanks for the info. I'm on a $25 plan to and my F3 is on order. I was wonder how the plan price would work out. Didn't think it would let me keep it.

You going to have to upgrade your plans to $35 for the mid-end devices. I had a $25 dollar plan when I use to have the older keyboard phone. And got on the htc one v and I had to upgrade it to the $35 plan.

Yeah, I thought about that and wondered about that. So I paid the $25 on the 3rd of this month (autopayment). So will they just bill be just another $10 this month and start the $35 next?
