Root how good is z4root method?

Does anyone know how well this works? and if this is a full nandroid root?

Yeah, I've heard it'll "temporarily" root your phone, which is not fully rooting at all.

Ok. Is there a way to make this tool root during boot? The reason is I don't want to hard root my wife's phone as this is safer (wont do a data wipe). I just need to start up setcpu after a restart.

Yes yes bla bla bla about full root is better. I just don't want to risk wiping her phone and giving myself more headache.

Ok, if you want a rooted phone that you can remove sprint apps from and load custom ROMS, then Z4 root will not help you. However if you want to use apps that are only for rooted phones (i.e. wireless tether, titanium backup, etc.) it will work.

I installed it and am using it to be able to wifi hotspot and also to use my Quick App Cache cleaner widget to clear all the caches at once. I don't really need full root, I don't get into themes and whatnot, I'm happy just changing my dock background in LP, lol! That's enough theming for me!
