How is everyone getting different phones?

I'm sure I will be the ONLY one who points out how backwards and twisted your philosophy is. And I am also positive the "Do as I say, Not as I do" Hall Moderators will either edit or Delete this post,
But who cares!

Because of what?

You getting an ERIS for free, like 90%+ of people did?
After having "6" of them, according to you, having one that works perfectly fine?
Or because your sister paid somewhere around 199$ for her improved and perfected next generation ERIS and according to you, it too has had NO problems with it?

Both sound like great endorsements as to why you SHOULD buy another HTC product!

But then again, Verizon commitment to "GET IT RIGHT at ALL COSTS", HTC's Beyond all Reasonable Expectations and almost unheard of in the Consumer Electronics Zero cost to the consumer, warranty replacement guarantee. And HTC's, as admitted by you, Constant product improvements and perfection in their production process. Do sound like more then enough reasons to never buy another one it some alter reality!

You really make no sense!

To the moderators, why is it OK for all of you to post insults, or condescending remarks, be they veiled or direct and Not OK for anyone else?
If you are going to "Enforce" Etiquette rules in an online Forum, You should really make sure yours is beyond reproach!

OF THE DAMMED said: - "If one of your parents is the primary on the account you may want to have them call. If you aren't the decision maker for the account in Verizon's eyes they may not be taking you as seriously."

Nice veiled insult there about young Adults NOT having the maturity, responsibility or Social skills to discuss problems they are having with THEIR phones to an adult!

 You along with everyone else who read that know that it was in no way shape or form an insult. It was an observation on a member's problem along with Verizon's company policies. If you truly found that insulting then you are reading FAR too much into it.

As far as any of your other comments go, if you have a problem with myself or any other moderator then you can take it up with us directly via PM or speak with one of the Administrators of this site.

If you have a problem with the rules then I suggest you start your own forum where the rules can be whatever you would like them to be. As far as the rules of this forum go, you agreed to them when you signed up. If you are unable to follow them then you will not be welcome.

Thats Funny!

But earlier when I made the Same observation. Slightly less veiled as it was. My post was totally removed by? I wonder why?

My observation, was nothing more then an agreement to the one posted by this "Of the dammed" person.

The only difference was, my post Not only emphasized that Verizon Doesn't take all the "Upgrade my Phone" Kids seriously. But also, neither should anyone else!

You may be the only one who read this as an insult. All I know is that if my wife has a problem with her phone (and she is not a young adult) and calls Verizon, or goes to the store, I would have had to give prior authorization for her to make changes to our account, as well as for my daughter (who is a young adult) or my son. My niece (who is a young adult) had to have her phone replaced (not an Eris) and she called her father from the VZW store in order for him to authorize the transaction.

Really?
Then it is Not "OUR" account as you stated, but rather "YOUR" account in Your name and Your name only.

If it was a joint account, not a Family share plan, meaning the bill(s) is in both your names. Then she would not need your permission to make changes to HER account

The account started out under my name many, many years ago. We made it a family plan by adding a phone for her, many years ago, but, though the account remains in my name, it is very much our account - her phone, my phone, as well as our kids' phones, are all activated on this family plan account. She doesn't give a crap whether it is in my name or our names together, really; we never asked if we could make it a "joint account", because merely authorizing her to make changes to the account is good enough. We learned that this needed to happen the first time that she called to try to authorize her line for international roaming; from that point on, she has the authority to manage our account, makes changes, etc. Of course, she hasn't had to make a call since then, but she now can if she wishes.

Still, the point is that a teenager/young adult who has a secondary, family plan account will not be able to make changes to a phone without authorization of the primary account, no matter how mature, socially skilled or responsible they are. Advising somebody who is that age to have a parent come with them, or deal with customer service themselves, is probably good advice, and hardly insulting.

Don't expect a reply if you answer - you're now on my ignore list.

Nice to see heaha over here behing him self, just report him like the Mod said in another post where he was hostile towards other people, me included, about this new phone business.

Not a single word in my post was intended to be humorous in any way.

My post was not veiled or meant to be anything but informative and helpful. Your's was rude and insulting which made it an easy candidate for deletion.

I beg to differ as it was I that removed your post. Feel free to PM me if you really don't see the difference.

You've already been asked to PM us about these problems. Please, we really don't want to ask again....

I can't believe a Tech forum has so few Adults in it or people who don't or won't understand the difference between, all the whining for a free upgrade posts and people who are truly searching for answers to things they don't know, or who need help on how to do or fix something.

The point I have always clearly made, a few others have eluded to and the other 99% of you know to be fact, but are to scraed to admit it, is simple.

There is nothing wrong with well over 95% of the ERIS phones people here complain about.

If you all want to be P.C. and Drink the Kool-aide, thats great Having worked for NJ Bell, Bell Atalantic and now Verizon for almost 27 years I know the facts behind all your theories, Suspicions and usually downright ignorance on Most topics concerning Verizon.

The point about the Parents involvement, that only a handful here got and the rest are still wimpering about, is also just as simple. Had a Responsible Parent, Not of the "Me" Generation gotten involved. The vast majority of the " My phone is Broke / upgrade me cases between The "I want it Now" generation and HTC / Verizon Would have never happened.

Those Adults would have been to embarrassed, To busy and to Knowledgeable to let their spoiled "Give me, Give me" children control the situation.

But if that was the case well over 50 % of this forums traffic would have disappeared. And given all the Whiners nothing to do but use their Fully operable phones as they were intended to be used. Tough trade off, isn't it?

Feel free to ban this and all my other S/N's names which were purposely made and listed under Open, Unlocked Corporate Verizon I.P. Numbers.

When I or anyone else here in my dept see something we want to address and or needs some common sense interjected into it, we will be back posting again.

The scary thing about most of you here is , none of you know 1/2 as much as you think you do. And even scarier than that is the fact that, many of you, even after you grow up, won't realize just how childish you really were (are) when you lived on the forums. With your Daily Espousing, spreading and propagating of What amount to nothing but Hot Air.

To the few who are truly helpful here, spreading actual knowledge and generally trying to help - Keep up the good work. To the other 90% of you children. Maybe it's time to worry about the important things in life.

Are you still complaining about something?
All I see is a rude poster who has already personally attacked a mod.
Time to get off your high horse. If you wanna be adult about it, pm a mod
not write a speech about lack of adults when you yourself are acting like a child

So I put my phone up on craigslist and got an offer to traid for a blackberry. I really didnt wanna go through with it so just to make sure I called verizon again today just to see what luck I had. Funny how this phone call literally lasted about 5 minutes and I finally got them to send me a Droid 2 :D. It was so painless I really didnt understand haha I really didn't even say anything he barely even looked at my record. So happy. I wish the Eris worked out for me it really was a cool phone but its time to move on
