how is GPS working on Charge?

I am thinking of switching from my Sprint Epic to the VZ DC, but want to make sure that DC does not have the same GPS issues that the Fascinate had (has).

I use the GPS on the road every day. thanks in advance.

The GPS is working great. I just got back from a trip to Islands of Adventure and then Key Largo right after that (not like I rly needed a GPS to tell me where to go since I've made the drive quite a few times already). The only issue I had was with the Nav Voice...it sucks, so i turned it down. Other than that, it was flawless.

Hope that's what you were looking for.

:)

It sucked before the latest ota update. Now that I have taken it and did a factory reset on my phone it locks within 10-15 seconds if not sooner outdoors and within a minute indoors. It has been accurate as well.

It works. Not the best out there (droid x and incredible, ver 1 of both, performed much better). Believe me I was a loud critic of the Fascinate because the GPS did not function at all!

The Fascinate did NOT work, the charge does.

Funny you should ask. I was just having some issues trying to use it to navigate a tricky route in DC while walking from the Metro to a certain location. The GPS was absolutely useless because it was not accurately locating me at all. I suppose the taller buildings may have been interfering, but it was puzzling that the GPS was placing me somewhere that I wasn't instead of just not finding me at all. That being said, I have not had any problems using it driving around various areas of the DC metro.

Mine works good for navigation on the road but I just went outside to my back yard and tried it with google maps. It locked within 10 secs but it put me about 40 yards north of my actual posit according to the sat picture. I live in the nw with some trees in the back yard. I used my dinc for golf but I don't think the dc is accurate enough.

Works great for me. I've put the Garmin away and mounted a dock for my Charge in the car. Google Nav UI is way better and works flawlessly.

This my first smart phone, but I find the GPS probably the biggest disappointment of the entire phone. Inside, it will almost never lock to anything but a tower location, 1-2 mile radius. Outside or in a car, it will lock in about 1-2 minutes if I'm lucky, and will immediately loose the lock if I step back inside (even if the phone is still on). Once it does lock, it works fine.

I always leave the GPS control on.

I have the latest updates loaded.

Anyone have any ideas of what else to try?

Factory reset. I had issues up until I took the ee4 update and did a factory reset. Gps now works perfectly.
