How is the reception on this phone?

If VZW doesn't see reason to improve the radio's functioning, I guess we'll see how widespread the actual problems are versus those panicking from low bars. Or if there were manufacturing problems in early batches, maybe they'll have quietly fixed them for the remainder of the units.

In all honesty, it's the Thunderbolt launch all over again. I remember my 4G bouncing from 4G to 3G down to 1X and then no signal. HTC learned from the Thunderbolt and that's why I am glad I decided to stick with HTC. Open up the back of the Rezound and it's obvious that HTC took liberties to improve on the Thunderbolt's shortcomings. I guess Samsung didn't have enough time between the Droid Charge and the Stratosphere to perfect their 4G LTE radio or to at least present an improvement in the Nexus. At any rate, I can't help feeling a little satisfaction considering how obnoxious some of the Nexus fanatics have been of late. I'm suddenly filled with the Christmas Spirit, is it bad that it's at the expense of the Nexus crowd? "MERRY CHRISTMAS TO ALL, AND TO ALL A GOOD NIGHT, AND A STRONG 4G SIGNAL!! EXCEPT FOR THE NEXUS CROWD OF COURSE"

Well there is no buyers remorse since we can return the phone till mid January. Buyers remorse is doing the return in exchange for the Rezound and then seeing a developer or the manufacturer later fixing the issue. Which is quite possible.

Maybe Samsung will send you some copper and a soldering kit via snail mail. I don't think they can send the extra components via OTA......

They will....they'll send me an empty box and insist there is copper and soldering iron inside.

If I owned the Nexus and read that article... upset would be the understatement of the century.

i read it. I'm not upset at all. I feel that it actually is an issue with what the signal is reporting to a certain extent. The next update 4.0.3 is also including a new radio file also.

I think the Samsung rep could have displayed a bit of compassion. Just my opinion. I do hope the new release is a fix all for the Nexus crowd.
You guys deserve better. In a perfect world, after waiting months for a dream device, it would exceed expectations and users wouldn't be waiting for an update fix.

We live in an area of Kansas that doesn't get great reception nor do we have 4g in our area yet and in order for us to make and receive calls we have to go to certain parts of the house just so it doesn't drop (we had drop calls w/ our DX, D2, Dinc, and TBolt). Now that I have a Rezound, I haven't had any problems yet and I can make calls in any part of the house w/o worrying.

It is outstanding to hear your Rez out performs your list of phones. Speaks well for the device.

Rezound is great. I can now walk down the stairs in my building, which puts me in the middle of a big concrete-wrapped Faraday cage, without dropping my calls or even having the audio drop out. My DInc would drop, and my DX would hold the line but lose the audio for a little bit.

I have ruled out the nexus because of bad reception. And am most worried about the rezounds reception and battery life. How might that compare to the Razr. (I could always get extended battery)

Denver has awesome 4g network coverage ...... my last phone ( TB ) never stayed connected ( I mean the radio was so #$%&//!!$ ) poor I felt like I was reattaching a string to a can five times a day ....I am rezounded by this phone - holding 4 g connection everywhere I go.....

Battery life surprisingly good ( again compared to that darn TB ) - just need to make appropriate adjustments .......no hope for next three or four years for any jumps in lithium ion battery technology so all of these how good is the battery life in a 4 g phone are silly......simply silly.....

This is one rocking phone

Glad verizon got the kinks worked out with the network, at least for now. 4G is as strong as ever.

Did you guys know you can force 3G with rezound using the ## menu? Not talking about the 4G/3G switch in settings either.

The other day when part of verizon's 4G service was down, there was no 3G either. 3G only worked on non-sim, 3G only phones. I put the rezound in 3G mode and was able to access data until 4G came back.
