How is the stock messaging app?

I've been on Handcent since Android 1.6 mostly because of the lack of repeating notifications and poor MMS support in the stock app.

How's the latest/greatest stock app?

I'd also like to use the stock texting app but I hope ICS let's you customize the LED for specific contacts as well as use VZW's delivery reports.

I'd also like to know if Google Talk let's you see if the other person is typing. Kind of ridiculous that it doesn't have this feature yet.
