Ordered 8/31
Had to go out of town for family emergency on 9/5
Shipped 9/7 (of course while I'm out of town, the emergency takes precedence, though)
1st Deliv Attmpet 9/8
Called Fedex to request Hold.
Brother in Law who ordered Droid 2 (his first droid and loves it!) Got to
pick mine up on the 9th.
9/12 Get home with fedex box on my side table....AND I'm loving it so far!
 
Wow, My Droid X is at my local fed ex facility but their not shipping until tomorrow because that's when it's due.

You gotta be kidding me man.. WTF.

others got it so much earlier when they ordered and I can't even get it 1 day early..

i spoke to Fedex about this in the past (on other none phone packages). they told me that customers actually get upset if it is delivered ahead of time. so to keep everyone happy they try to deliver the packages on the ETA and not before. lame i know but thats big business for ya.

Mines on the truck and I'm in my first class. SUCKS!
 
Just got an email this morning - my DX has been shipped and its due tomorrow by around 3 PM! YEAY!:D:D:D

Ordered 9/8 with an original ship date of 9/21

It was the free shipping offered. The arrival date on the Fedex tracking page said it is due to arrive on my door 9/14 at 3PM. It was picked up this morning at 6AM so it would appear the shipping is next day rather than 2 day.

It's strictly my opinion, but I've always thought FedEx doesn't deliver packages early because they don't want to provide better service than what was paid for, since doing that might encourage people to use a less expensive service in the future...

I ordered my DX on 9/7 with overnight delivery promised for 9/8. Instead, it was shipped 9/9 via priority mail and I still haven't received it :mad:

Well I ordered 9/5 and still don't have my phone. I ordered by phone as I explained above, due to special promotion in my region. I have not received an email confirmation yet either but the phone guy said I would receive it ASAP, then a second email when it ships. My credit card was debited, that is the only reason I believe the order is not totally lost in limbo somewhere.

I called today to find out what gives, and no one can find my order. The order # I was given isn't an order #, apparently, can't look it up by ph # because not activated, can't lookup by social because I am new customer and not activated, etc. The lady was nice, called three different sales departments trying to find info, but in the end I am being told to just wait, and the next shipment goes out on the 22nd.

Not cool. At all.

I thought I read somewhere here that there has been more DX's made available so they are shipping sooner that originally estimated - that may be why I got the email confirmation of my DX being shipped a week early. Hopefully those here who are still waiting for some kind of notice will be pleasantly surprised soon. My DX is coming from Ontario, CA if that helps anyone and I am near Denver, CO.

Now I just hope the DX accessories I ordered from Ebay come in soon as well...it would be great if they all arrived on the same day!
 
Ordered Droid X online on Friday a.m. 9/10 with anticipated Ship date of 9/21 - and certainly not expecting it before then. Also ordered accessories. Friday evening received shipment notification. Thought the notification was just the accessories. But this morning I went on verizon website to check status of phone. It indicated it was already shipped. So, called verizon to see if it was just accessories or both and, how to check status of backordered phone. She told me they got them in earlier than expected and the delivery set for today includes the phone. Wow, certainly didn't expect so earlier - considered overnight. But, I'll believe it when I actually receive it.

I sure hope this is a brand new phone as ordered and not some reject from customer changing mind...
 
Ordered my X on Friday (9 Sept) and was told it would ship by 21 September. Got an email today saying it had been shipped and should be delivered by 15 September. Awesome.

I don't mean to sound like a jerk but I'll probably come across as one so I apologize in advance. The droid x is back ordered so there's no way you'd get it overnighted to you regardless if you paid for it or not. And two I agree with you about fed ex. I think they hate to do anything exceedingly well. This is why I like to ship with UPS.

You should be shipped a brand new phone and not a refurb unless you purchased a refurb. If you purchased new and got a refurb you have every right to call verizon and demand a brand new phone cause it what you paid for not for the refrb which I hear is less than a brand new x.
 
I ordered mine online 9/11 with the free overnight shipping promo. Got a notification yesterday that it shipped and would be here tomorrow by 3pm. What??? I guess they finally caught up with demand! I'm not complaining!

Now I'm stalking FedEx every couple hours LOL

Weird. They "took my payment" on 9/8 and its due to arrive tomorrow. Mike - for what its worth, my expectation was for shipment on the original date of 9/21 until I got an email this morning with the updated shipping schedule. I can't say what will happen in your case but I hope you get pleasantly surprised like I did. It sucks for Verizon to screw with people like it seems they are doing...

Yeah I originally got the page saying it would ship on the 22nd, but the next day got an email that it had been sent to shipping already. Again, not complaining at all, just kind of strange.
Fedex has it due for delivery tomorrow still.
 
I got my droid today, it was exciting. I'm thinking about rooting my phone, but I'm scared to do it. How is everyone else doing with their phone? Mine seems to have a battery drain from hell!

Apparently you have to let these batteries learn for like a week.
 
Good news - just checked my mailbox and my accessories have been delivered! 2 silicon cases, screen protector, car charger and an extra wall charger...gotta love EBAY!

Ordered mine Sat night 9/11 and still nothing about shipping. I check the order status and it says ship on 9/22. I hope that changes. Ready to upgrade from my D1.
 
According to the Fedex tracking page, my DX is on the truck for delivery - should be here within the next 5 hours! I'm liking this:D
 
Mine got here about 30 mins ago! I LOVE it so far! I have a feeling I'm going to be spending the next week learning how to use it and customize it! :D
