How long is it taking you to get a full charge?

I ran my phone down to 4% battery this morning and plugged it in to charge around 9:30 or so. Its now 2:30 and its just now at 95%. Doesn't that seem a little long?

Mine also slowed way down once it hit around 80%. I figured it was just because I was streaming pandora (which could still be true). It could also be battery protection circuitry to avoid overheating causing the slow down.

ive had the phone about 5-6 days

probably charged it from dead (turning itself off.) to 100% about 7-8 times now.

average for me is about 90 minutes, but once it did it in about 60 minutes.

so it took you like 4 hours to get a full charge?

It has varied. It will for a while as the phone learns the battery, and calibrates itself and the battery reporting percentages. Remember the phone actually pulls the current from the charger, so if it takes that long to charge, its because the phone is telling it too. If I am not mistaken, battery charger circuitry looks for peak voltages to determine full charge, and will slow the rate of charge down when it sees its getting close. Its possible yours just kept slowing down more and more but never hit a peak until a while later for this particular charge. This should go away as it calibrates itself.

hmm...well i did charge my phone by connecting it via usb to my computer. i wonder if that charges it slower than plugging it into the wall

The charger that came with the phone is a 1A charger (1000 mA). USB, from a computer, supports 500 mA, half of the charger. Unfortunately, the phone probably won't charge much at all on 500 mA if you're using it, it may even discharge (slowly) because that's just not enough juice.

Older chargers are most likely 850 mA (I can confirm a Droid 2 charger was), they'll work sufficiently, but not necessarily super fast.
