How Long to Charge Battery

My replacement Inc will be here on Tuesday. What is the recommended amount of time to charge the battery the first time? When I was talking to Tech Support when my first Inc was having problems he told me it was best to charge a full 24 hours the first time.

I don't know if I can wait 24 hours after receiving my Inc before checking it out!
 
Thanks! That's what I did the first time but wanted to make sure I was doing it correctly before I charged up my replacement Inc. Certainly do not want to do anything that will mess with my battery life:p
 
HTC says it should take 3 hours to fully charge...if you charge via USB then it will take considerably longer since this is a trickle charge.
 
the sticker on the charger mentions 4-5 hours depending on battery.

isn't 24 hours for batteries that are ni-cads from the 1980's? :)
 
yeah i just plugged it in and started using it haha. couldn't resist. i've definitely notice the battery getting better. have about 50% battery left at the end of today with medium use. that's plenty good for me with BT off, location and mobile network on, syncing on, auto brightness on. lookin good.
