How true. Well said.

My opinion?

I think a macbook should last you a good while longer than most other laptops. But as many have said, and from what I gather regarding Apples rep., if something goes wrong with the thing, you're pretty much drifting up a river of excrement without a means of propulsion.

I'd just buy a good laptop and install linux. Best of both worlds.

my moms lasted a couple years then the cable between the screen and mother board shorted out; turned out to be a known issue.
talked to the guy at mac store, to late nothing they were gonna do, not even offer a discount on a new unit.
