I'm waiting one more week. I refuse to give up my unlimited data after last month's fiasco which ended up using 28 GB in two weeks due to a large email that it kept trying to resend over and over until I figured out what was happening. I cringe at how much that would've cost me had I been on a 2 or 4 GB plan. They guy at Best Buy told me to get an Inc 2 for free and then sell it back on their Buy Back program for $300 when the 4G comes out and put that towards it and add a line. I'm tempted, but thinking it might cost me more in the long run to pay $10/month for an unused line.
The only problem is that's assuming it comes out before the 28th. If it comes out after that you're looking at 2 problems with that scenario. First, the longer it takes to launch, the less they'll give you for that Inc2. Second, if it launches after the 28th, you won't be able to simply add a line. Doing so would possibly move all lines of your family plan to a share data plan (I say possibly because Verizon hasn't made it clear if one line upgrades it would move all lines onto a share plan, but seeing as how they want everyone off of unlimited, that's probably how they'll do it).
Now you could get the Inc2 for free, then when the Inc4g comes out sell it back to Best Buy & then purchase the Inc4g at retail from them. The only problem with that is their retail price is usually higher than Verizon's (or any place offering retail sales of cell phones). For instance, when the Thunderbolt launched, Verizon's retail price was $650, while Best Buy's retail was $750. So if Verizon has the inc4 for $450-500 retail, BB May have it for $550-600. This is still kind of speculation since neither Verizon or BB have released any figures for retail price on the phone, but I'm going by what they've done in the past.
You could try ebay or craigslist to offload the Inc2, but since it's a little over a year old and 3G only, you're probably not going to get $300 for it, unless the buyer is desperate and there are only a handful of Inc2s for sale at that time.
I'm not advising you either way, just wanted to let you know what you might run into going that route. I'm doing something similar, but I'm getting a SGS3 since that will have the best resale of the phones currently on Verizon, due to how new it is. The way I figure, at the very least I should break even, & possibly make some money on it (but most likely break even). Probably not what you wanted to hear, but I'd hate to have you get screwed over & lose your unlimited or take a big loss when you go to switch phones.
