How many are still using an S3 and why?

I ask to know if anyone here with the still awesome samsung s3 have any issues with their Samsung S3's Amoled display.

No screen burn-in? and how long have you been using your s3?

I've had mine since July 2002. I started noticing burn in about a year after owning it. Around the beginning of 2003, I began using Waze whenever I drive. In mid 2003, I did notice some burn in where it had a ghost image from Waze and from the notification bar. It is most noticeable in apps that have a screen that is one solid colour. Yahoo! Weather has an all purple title screen when you launch. This is where I first noticed it. The burn in is less noticeable when viewing screens that do not have large areas of a single colour. Generally, it is least noticeable when viewing pictures and videos.

Nothing against the S3. Still a great phone. I'm still using one because Straight Talk phones are expensive. They have S4's that are refurbished for $299 and I'm very close to upgrading to one. My S3 does everything I ask of it except game smoothly. Real Racing 3, Nitro Nation, Shadowzone and other good looking games are just too much for the Adreno 225. I can still play them, just not smooth enough for my liking. But I'm a gamer who has built rigs for years so I like a powerful phone to tinker with when I'm not at my PC lol.

I had started using a Galaxy Express in late 2013, and in August last year when I switched from AT&T because I liked that phone so much, I switched to the S3 from T-Mobile since the devices were so similar. I'm still using the S3 today on Metro's 55 dollar unlimited plan. Best deal.

Besides having the latest and the greatest, which I don't really care about, the S3 does everything I need it to. Calling, texting, facebook, web browsing and youtube. It does what I need it to do so I really see no reason to upgrade for now.

I got it when it came out and I'm still very happy with it and don't see any real reason to upgrade. I'm definitely not impressed by its successors. I don't want a bigger phone, I think the size is perfect. I have my phone in a beautiful high quality brown leather wallet case that only gets more beautiful with time. Keeps all my credit cards and stuff in place. Perfect size. Don't want to change it. The s3 screen is very nice on my eyes. My gf had a the s2 but the reolution hurt my eyes, s3 is spot on. I don't do any heavy gaming but I play a lot of pinball arcade, which works great on s3. Well ok, lately the pinball table releases have started to require a little more juice, but there are different quality options and just a little lower mip maping and everything runs smoothly. I'd be an idiot to spend 600£ for a tiny mip mapping improvement. I never had any burn in problems. Never used a screen protector and my screen still looks great, no scratches. I have a replacement battery which I hardly ever use, but tried it and didn't notice much difference. I'm happy with my battery still. I have some setting tweaks and turn of wifi and stuff when not needed to save battery. I haven't even rooted. have a great calender app, so my device is wallet, calender, phone, gaming device, social networking and camera device. I have apps for every need. I do have 2 real compact slr cameras and I always bring at least one of them with me, (Sigma dp1 and 2) no phone or compact camera could ever come remotely close to its image and optics quality.
My only problem is the earphone input jack has become unstable so music can stop if cable wiggles but I'm getting a sandisk sansa mp3 anyway. Reason is I nedd a separate music player for connecting to tube amplifier and I use my phone with different apps for recording, tuning, checking keys and stuff. And I'm not a spotify user, lots of my preffered music isn't on spotify anyway, like different live versions and vintage blues that I get from places like youtube and convert to mp3's. And I do that on my phone, save to micro sd and then I could put my micro sd to sansa player. Samsung s6 doesn't even support micro sd.

Should be out by this summer.
Sorry to put you in the spot lol but what are you hoping will be better in the s6 than the s3?
Personally I won't be buying another Samsung but if I was, I suppose I would like more ram and a (slightly) bigger display but that's about it :)

Well, put my order in the the S6. According to UPS tracking, I should get it on Monday. I could care less about the lack of micro sd slot seeing that I haven't put a card in for over a year since my cards kept getting fried. I am bummed about the battery. Hopefully they come up with a good solution (not holding my breath). Sad that it's not waterproof they did with the s5.

Guess I'll finally attempt to root my s3.

Cool. Yeah I've read bad reports about the battery life. You might wanna buy a power pack if you're a moderate user and wanna make it through the day.
Yeah I'm surprised they didn't make it waterproof, I think that was a great selling point and you'd think it would be easier without the removable back.
They should have kept the display at 1080p to save battery life imo

I hope they make a Mophie case for it. But yeah, must get external battery....
