How many of you opted for visual voicemail?

This was the case some time ago, but the PLUS service from YouMail is ridiculously accurate.

Good to know. I was comparing Youmail's limited free transcription service vs. GV's free transcription. I knew Youmail had an upgraded version, but I never tried. Again, I don't get that many vm's so I don't see the value in it myself, but if I got a lot of vm's it might be worth it.

I love Visual Voicemail on my iPhone and I'm really hoping I can find something that can fill that gap with the Incredible. I'm not even going to consider paying Verizon to use Visual Voicemail. They can go to hell if they think I'm going to pay $3 a month for something that doesn't even cost them money to maintain and something I've gotten for free with AT&T.

I *believe* the VVM service from YouMail is still free. The transcription service has never been and continues to not be free. That is what the trial refers to.

I mistakenly thought that the functionality within "Visual Voicemail (VMM)" included voice to text (or transcription). Aparently, they are two completely separate sets of functionality.

So if someone is looking for VMM & transcription for free, they would look to GV? Any other options?

cancelled my visual voicemail over the phone today
there is no option on verizonwireless.com, real annoying

free YouMail FTW..

Ditto on google voice. I love it, especially the crazy transcription of the voicemails! Plus it is free. The only thing negative I could say is that the VM is digital and tingy sounding, but its is only voicemail.

i love it. though i am with you in its pricey but ill keep it as long as they dont raise price. i like the city ID too but not worth 1.99. should be .99 or 1.99 for everyone in my plan.

before i go ahead and sign up for youmail because i havn't got my GV yet has anyone had any problems with the VVM with youmail? any kinda issues at all?

So, with GV, you get text messaging and vvm, while Verizon charges for both?

Yep. With GV I have free unlimited texting, something I believe costs $20 with Verizon. I'm not sure how much vvm is with Verizon but that is also free with GV. Everything runs through the GV app but I am notified on my phone just as I would if I had these services with Verizon.

I use Google Voice
Before I had an invite, i used YouMail.

Use YouMail if you don't feel like paying VZW and don't have a Google Voice account!
