One of these babies - LG Optimus 2X?

I'd be very hard pushed not to invest in January if it's as good as it sounds!
 
Do we really need a dual core processor in a mobile yet ?, As it is, My DHD runs all my apps with no problems at all, and is really smooth when Im using the phone, I do love the idea of having one though but I agree with andy182, I've never been really impressed with LG either, Now if HTC brought out a Desire HD X2 I would be right in there.
 
What interests me most is that the dual-core in combination with 2.3 should deem healthy battery gains. Plus it should be very snappy indeed.
 
yeah the option of using a smaller processer for small tasks is a great idea and then power up both when needed. I have only just got my DHD and is taking a lot of getting used to versus my iPhone 4. not sure which i prefer yet!
 
Took me a good 2-3 weeks before I "saw the light" after moving from iOS to Droid. Now I'm fully on-board, but I still can't type even half as well on my 4.3" DHD as I could on my 3.5" iPhone 3GS... seems the targeting is way off, something I hope GB/2.3 addresses... typing still pishes me off, no matter what keyboard I use (Swype/Swiftkey (best)/Better Keyboard).

I wonder how many programs will actually recognise dual-cores and if they'll scale correctly, I imagine those not using the API correctly are going to actually degrade in performance until dev's have worked out how to code for DC. Unless of course the OS layer does the scaling and presents a single CPU to the app.
 
If the Dual core was being added to create a little powerhouse of a phone I might be a bit more exited. Instead they seem mostly interested in enhancing day to day performance and associated power consuption. This is not something I find especially lacking. Anything over a day battery is only ever going to be a bonous to me as my DHD is essentially a standin for a laptop, and the laptop hasent a hope in hell of lasting a day (or fitting in my pocket).

When they make a phone that can run COD or one of the Total war games I might need a change of underwear. Untill then I think the DHD will weather the incrimental updates in hardware pretty well. Should be atleast a year before something comes out that actually makes the DHD seem inadequate.
 
I don't need to upgrade, i'm away for 7 months so i'm going to buy a new phone when I get back DHD is perfect for me at the moment.
 
to be fair, at this point, the next big hardware upgrade will only become necessary when android release an os that wont work on current platforms.

I find that too, forever mis-typing things !
 
Whats the point, happy with my HD, what happens in another 3 months when a better phone than the LG Optimus 2X is released, will you be upgrading again loike
