I have both the portfolio case and the silicone case. On a daily basis I use the silicone case. When traveling I'll use the portfolio case, although, I agree it's not really the best design.

I am going with the portfolio case until something better comes along. Just taking precautionary measures.

Can't tell if this one blocks the camera and speaker, I can not believe that it does since the power button is back there.

The OEM portfolio case does not block the speaker or the back camera - there is a cutout that goes across that area. But I agree - it's pretty bulky, and the inside of the cover is a little fuzzy - so when I open it up my screen is fuzzy too. The portfolio would be okay if you were going to set it up to watch vids or something, but when I use the Kindle app it's bulky to hold. Having said that - I love my Xoom.

Portfolio case sucks. I can't get a good grip on it when I'm holding it.

But I know as soon as I take it out of the case, I'm going to drop it. Good thing I got squaretrade w/ADH!

Around the house I don't use a case. I do put it in the Folio Case when I take it with me though. I don't like scratches on my devices if I can avoid it.

I use the silicone case around the house and folio when I go to work or somewhere else I'm taking it. I agree, it needs to be protected out in the big bad scary world.
