What's that?
You'll have to be more specific.

AnthraX is a custom kernel that will overall greatly improve performance and music. Battery life isnt quite as good for me as other custom kernels (lithids aggressive freedom) but it is more than enough to get me through the day and the performance increase is worth it.

Tommy's Classic EVO is a sense 1.0 based ROM with great battery life.

Have you tried SetCPU with a screen off profile? It helps improve battery life a great deal.

Do not buy an Evo 4g. Way to many problems , I have had 4 different phones and returned to be repaired for a total of 7 times. More than any other appliance or vehicle in that amount of time. Plus no upgrade to Gingerbread 4.0?? What's up with that?? I feel that if you support a companies new phone or product, you will be left out in the end. It feels like we have a little bit of "Apple" rubbing off under the HTC Tree if you know what I mean. This will not lead me to apple's I phone but definitley to a more rewarding experience for the money.

I've had one Evo 4G and never had any problems with it. Gingerbread is Android 2.3.x, not 4.0 - and you missed an entire version (3.0, honeycomb). This phone is great and has a large dev community. Perhaps you've had so many problems with so many phones because you kept doing something wrong?

I've had not one problem with my EVO in a little over a year, except for the problems I create in playing around with root. :D

I'm keeping my phone until Sprint or another carrier comes up with the goods on the network side of things. I don't care about a new phone until the network can support it, already paying a 4G luxury tax that does nothing for me. I'm happy flashing roms, love the EVO.

and, it rhymes with DEVO!!! how f*@king cool!!!

I plan on keeping mine til my contract runs out.I got mine on the first day it came out in June 2010.my biggest gripe is no 4g in my area and Sprint says maybe 2013.it has its glitches like reboots randomly.

Nonsense, I've had my evo since the week they came out. I have my original. No problems.

Waiting for my upgrade and I'm sure Im going to get the SGS2 unless Sprint drops a new phone in July when my 2 years is up.

Nice! If this is going to be the Evo2 LTE I hope they don't botch the layout like they did with the E3D. I need to see a built in kickstand (which HTC has been neglecting), a removable battery (which HTC neglected in the One X ans S), a flush rear camera lens, NO BUTTONS on the side that will lie on the table when utilizing the kickstand, and a mini HDMI out.

Basically if they just take the Evo 4G shell and fill it with new goodies and a better battery and maybe a slightly larger screen, I will happily make the jump.

Argghhhh - What's with HTC neglecting the kickstand??!!

I admit I didn't see the point to it when it originally came out but now it's a must have for me...a deal breaker.

Anyhow - Engadget wrote this today on possible One X coming to SPCS June 10th:
HTC One X could be coming to Sprint on June 10th, bearing LTE and 'Jet' codename -- Engadget

I highly doubt you're going to see another device with a built-in kickstand. Since there are cases readily available with kickstands, and since the kickstand on the EVO wasn't the best design (it gets extremely hot when the battery is charging - I've burned my hands on it), I don't think it'll be integrated into any new devices.

Is a case with a kickstand completely out of the question for you? Are you saying that if there's never another device with a kickstand, you'll NEVER upgrade from your EVO? I must admit, that's some dedication.

my kickstand on my evo.. has never gotten hot..

and your has burnt your hand? you might want to that that checked before the warranty expires.

No problem with warmish or even hot kickstand here.
I would be more concern why your EVO was emiting so much heat - something taxing & draining it?

As for a case with a kickstand, well I'll cross that bridge when or if I get there but I try not to assume as much as you though.

For me, it will seal the deal for me sticking with Sprint. If they get an Evo2 with a kickstand, then I'm getting it. If the Evo2 doesn't have a kickstand, then I'm going to open my eyes to what other carriers have to offer (not necessarily just what phones they have, but everything).

What warranty? :P

All 5 of the EVOs I've had (yes, that's right, 5) have had the issue of the retracted kickstand getting hot while I'm using the phone heavily while charging (playing a graphics-heavy game, etc). It's not hot when it's in use, of course, since it's not next to the phone. But the charging, combined with the heavy use, and the case I have on my phone seem to focus all of the heat dissipation to the only open space on the back of the phone - the kickstand. So yes, it gets hot and yes, it has burned me.

i initially had two subpar EVOs before getting my third, which has been pretty solid (knock on wood), so i'm partially in agreement that the build quality on the EVO leaves something to be desired. that is pretty disappointing that you had to get your phone repaired...7 times. didn't you try to just get a flat out replacement? what were your issues?

all that said, complaining about no upgrade to ICS is kind of ridiculous, don't you think? that's like buying a 2008 Prius and then complaining when you can't upgrade the engine to be hydrogen powered in 2012. are you kidding me? the EVO is coming up on 2 years old, which is pretty much two lifetimes in the world of cell phones. we got a decent gingerbread OTA update, which i prefer over Froyo, and to be honest, i don't think ICS is as groundbreaking as people are making it out to be. it's nicer, there are some cooler features, and it will hopefully unite everything about the phone and related development, but is it really worth shelling out $199 + $36 activation + taxes over a rooted EVO which, aside from gaming, does pretty much everything that you could want it to do? i'm not convinced it's worth it...yet. btw, i game on my HTC EVO View 4G tablet, so i have no need to boost my Quadrant scores and whatnot.

I disagree!

I've flashed and reflashed multiple times, dropped my EVO(no case), and removed my screen protector two months ago and still can't kill this phone!! Currently running
Mik 3.11 with Clean Sense theme along with Anthrax kernel and when there is a problem I have back ups everywhere so reflash!! Love this phone and only have interest in the Galaxy Note since I want bigger!!!

Kickstand FTW!

lol! It's a big selling point for me! I use mine a lot, when I bake, I will look up recipes on my phone and then stand it up on the counter to look at the recipe while making whatever it is I'm making (while keeping the screen awake). NTM if I'm watching something on netflix. I've also heard the photon has awesome battery life and is pretty fast.

Could this be true?
