Help How much video playback can I expect?

[theymademedoit]

Hi,
Wonder if someone can help.
I have the HTC Desire S on the latest firmware and I am flying long haul on Sat.
I want to watch movies on it and wonder if anyone has any idea how long a fully charged battery will last?
Cheers,
Al

Hi,

I have a stock Orange ROM Desire S and using 'MX Player' my phone uses 18% of battery to watch a 40 minute episode.

(I do use PocketDivxEncoder to make the files smaller resolution and file size so don't know if watching unformatted video files might use more battery?)

Also, if on a plane with Wifi/3g turned off it might get you some extra battery as well!
