I don't understand. What do the percentages mean? 1% of the days I use it? 1% of the times I interact with it?

Anyway, had my current phone for a few months. I think it has froze/shutdown maybe twice in that time.

The only Android "freeze ups" I ever had was the two times I overclocked my Eris too high. Battery pull.. recovery menu.. etc.

Lived to tell about it, even though at the time I thought my Android world was about it end.

I would suggest you redo the poll. I don't understand the percentages as well. I would recommend something like the following:

Once a day or more.
Once a week or more.
Once a month or more.
Once or more every 3 months.
Less often than once every 3 months.
Never.

I think OP means the percentage of times an app freezes when in use.

I'd guess I open/use apps about 200 times a week. So I'd guess about .01%.

still have my almost one-year-old desire, never had any problems with it. no freezing, not crashing, nothing. only had error messages from third party apps

I've had a one month old Galaxy SL. Froze the 1st day. Probably had frozen on me three or five times over the time, but during those times I was really pushing it max though. I was online, pushing mail from 3 accounts with 7 pages of widgets on a different launcher and playing a high graphics 3D game. LOL. Now I'm a bit less pushy on my phone and disabled/uninstalled a lot of bloat apps I installed on that first day, and now its working like a charm. I should have waited a month longer to get a phone so I could have saved up for an S2 so I can push the phone farther LOL.

Sir! we're at percent fiver lockup, with a chance of a wake-lock, permission to ready task kill sequence alpha tango kilo, oh also that ram defragmenter speed booster thing I got for $10 from the market that's totally legit.

Denied.

Sir, eight percent and climbing, blogosphere connection loss highly likely...Ten percent lockup! I'm starting sequence alpha tango kilo.

Sir, why is your sidearm out?

(end of tape)

Edit: For serious though, I've been using android on the cm7 nook and stock non-root inspire for about 8 months now and I've had a lockup bad enough to battery pull on the inspire 2 maybe 3 times. I think it was an app gpslogger that runs as a service when you're not using it causing the problem. Uninstalled and never happened again.

The percentages are off. As another poster, said once in a period of time would be more relevant.

It has been about 8-10 weeks since I got my SGS2 and it has never frozen even once. And it is on 24x7. I have re-started it once or twice, but never for any freezing or crashing.

OTOH, My Nokia 5800 (and another ghastly symbian e50) would regularly crash and had several issues till at least 4-5 firmware updates in 6-9 months.

My Optimus 1 did restart a few times, but always recovered gracefully, unlike the symbians where I always had to physically remove the battery to get it going again.

I think it's usually the rom. Mine was lagging in lockscreen while on charge. Updating the firmware sorted that.

Oh, & percentage of what?
