Help How should I charge my Note II?

I'm reading about battery life and how the way you charge your phone can affect it, but there are also a lot of conflicting reports, i.e. "i read so-and-so on batteryuniversity," "no, that site is b.s. i have a degree in physics," "you're dumb i have a masters in electrical engineering," "you guys don't know anything i have a phd in chemistry and my dissertation was specifically on lithium ion batteries," etc.

so what is really the best way to charge this phone? most of the stuff i'm reading either says to keep it always charged 99% but never 100% and ideally never below 99%, but other stuff says to never charge it until it gets to about 20% and then charge to 100%, use the phone until it's down to 20% again, and so forth.

you can do whatever you want, there are so many opinions on this
from my personal experience, i do notice greater capacity if i deep cycle a new battery a couple times. then just charge as you please. then deep cycle at least once a month

I would have thought there is some scientific evidence on optimizing battery life for smartphones. Don't the engineers even research this when they are building the phone?

You can worry yourself silly about this, I know I used to with my 1st smartphone, just charge it as you like (within reason) worst case scenario you need a new battery in a few years, its not an iphone lol.

I with with this 110%!!! I dont know if this actually works or my mind believing therefore becoming truth, but i have dont this to the last 5+ phones i have had and i never had a problem and with excellent battery life.

Activate phone, play until it dies.
Charge ( without turning it on ).
Use til it dies again.
Charge ( without turning it on ).
then play and charge as i wish.

like i said....if anything it gives me piece of mind and never an issue.

I have my original iPhone 3G since it came out, and I just charge it whenever I want.. sometime all the way down, sometime at 20%, sometime at 50%, sometime at 80%. The battery has over 1000 charges and still running fine. Unlike the iPhone, the Note II battery is easily replaceable and cheap! I am not even going to worry about it. :p
