Step-by-step instructions

If you already have an account on the phone (such as a Google or a POP account), you will need to follow these steps first:

  1. Open the Email application.
  2. Click the Menu button and then click the Accounts button.
  3. Click the Menu button again and click Add Account.
  4. Enter your email address and password.

You should find that the same instructions will work with all Android-based phones running at least 2.0 with very little modification.

  1. Open the Mail application.
  2. Enter your email address and password.
  3. Click Next.
  4. Click Exchange Account.
  5. Enter your: DOMAIN\username, password, and Exchange server address.
  6. Check Use Secure Connection and Accept All SSL Certificates.
  7. After authentication, check the boxes associated with the features you want to include such as Push, Amount To Sync, Notifications, Sync Contacts, Sync Calendar, Sync Calendar Amount.
  8. Click Next.

In the next screen, you need to give an account name and your name (this will be displayed on outgoing email messages).
Note: Make sure the DOMAIN\username is set up in exactly that format, and the domain is most likely in all caps.

With an Exchange account set up on your Android phone, you will not find one built-in application to handle all of the apps in one location; instead, you have to view the email, calendar, and contacts separately. Fortunately, when you set up the email account for an Exchange server, it automatically pulls the information for calendar and contacts

Are you using Microsoft Outlook for the office? My IT guy mentioned that because it pulls the emails from the server and so does your phone, you must set up the Outlook so that it leaves a copy in the server. Else whatever goes into the PC will not go to the phone since its out of the server.

Cheers

I have installed some of the biggest Exchange environments in the world and can tell you this, If your company allows iPhones, then your Android phone will work also. They both utilize Activesync to connect and if they enable iPhone, then they automatically enable Android. They can block an individual from using Activesync but that would block both iPhone and Android.

All you need to know is the server name (ask an iPhone user what value they entered for the server name) and the domain name. Click on Settings->Accounts and Sync->Add Account->Microsoft Exchange Activesync and then fill out the values asked for. If your company has implemented PIN security (most companies do this), you will have to enter a PIN Lock on your phone. (Settings->Location and security->Change Screen Lock)You should receive a notification on your phone telling you that you have to implement a PIN to use the account you just created. If you don't create the PIN, the phone won't sync with Exchange.

Thanks :)

I try my self but always receive error message.
But now i can go to IT manager and show your answer.

When i select the second ssl option, answer is bad login or password.
I'm sure he's give me wrong domain name or exchange server name.

Thanks i tell you after if works :)

Yes we use Outlook
All the email is on server.
In local i just have old email, like year 2010 / 2009 etc...

Don't forget to go to settings in the outlook and allow for emails to be stored in the server for awhile. Else once its pulled into the PC, you won't get it on the phone.

Cheers

By default, Outlook does not pull mail off the server. The default Outlook protocol is MAPI and thus it simply reads the mail from the server. If your company uses Outlook and mail is pulled off the server to Outlook then you are using POP protocol. I would question why anyone would use POP on Exchange, doesn't make any sense at all.

Make sure you accept all SSL certificates. Also make sure you are using your network account for logon, not your email alias. For Android, it wants the logon name to be in the form of domain\username. Some companies do not make them the same. Also, you server name should be the full domain name. example : servername.domainname.com.

As I mentioned before, your mail server probably is configured to only deliver mail to a secure mobile client. You probably need to create a Lock PIN for your mobile before mail can be delivered. Did you do that?

IT : "its not possible"
me : damn look forum, do you thinks samsung and android create a phone who cant connect to exchange server ? :)
IT: no its not possible
me : try at least ....
IT : OMG i forget put activ sync in your account :)

Always same :)

Need wait answer from that company :(
But that company dont like new stuff to :(
I'm sale manager it's not my job and dont have access to server :)

Well like I said, if they allow iPhones, they allow Androids. Both use Activesync so if they allow anyone to use Activesync, it doesn't mater which phone you use.
