Help how to automatically delete old email?

hello,

i am using a htc evo 4g smartphone from sprint. i am downloading email from several POP accounts using the standard mail app that comes with this phone. is there anyway to setup this phone so that older email is automatically deleted? this is the way it works on my iphone - it only displays that last several hundred messages. i like this setup because i can keep downloading my email and not have to worry about it taking up memory space. and yet i don't want to go through the hassle of deleting messages by hand.

thanks.

It might be easier to delete them from your gmail account, as that is most likely where they're stored. Even if you delete them from your phone, they will still be up on your ISP's, or Google's server. For example, my ISP is Clearwire, which is affiliated with Google, so my mail is on the Google's gmail server. the bad part though, is because I have a Clearwire and Gmail account, I get alot of double emails. Not sure what to do about that one yet....

try logging into your respective accounts, and delete the emails from the servers - your shouldn't see old emails on your phone after that.

You probably CAN delete emails on your phone, and they will be deleted from the server, but it might be faster on your servers, or gmails internet website, as you can delete multiples more easily. Will be curious to see what you found was easier.
