like when you install custom roms do you need to wipe out the whole entire data from the phone? Is there a way to back the apps and data on the phone? need help please

Thanks for your help
Kevin

Install Titanium Backup Pro. Get the pro version if you're going to restore all your apps very often.

It'll back up your apps and app data. You don't want to restore system data since that often just corrupts your rom and causes a boot loop.

If you want to back up everything, you do a backup in recovery. Then if you don't like a rom, you can go back to your previous one.

After installing a new rom, if you sign into Market, it will try to reinstall those apps. If you're using the free version of TIBU, this means you'll have to "OK", one more dialog for every app that's already installed.

When restoring from TIBU, you should restore just apps + app data, nothing in green or red since this can cause FC's if it's from an incompatible rom.

I have full version of Tibu. It will try to reinstall applications. And what about my settings, cache? For example for facebook application,, my facebook password email? Will it be able to do this?

Passwords aren't always restored as a security measure (and if you had to reenter your pw, would that be a hardship?).

Create a backup in recovery. If you don't like a new rom, you can go back to it.

In cwm? After wiping data for installing a new rom, can i go back to previous rom withourt losing?

A recovery backup is a backup of everything as it was when you backed it up. As long as you don't sbf back to Froyo from Gingerbread, you should be fine.

You do need to take precautions tho (like TIBU). :D
