How to change a broken touch screen on Fflytouch 3/Superpad 111.
I Obtained a replacement screen ( I got mine for my Superpad 111 from Chinagrabber and it arrived in 7 days delivered to the UK. I picked the flytouch 3 option in chinagrabbers menu. The link is below

Buy 10.2" SuperPad II Flytouch 3 Screen Replacements - FlyTouch2 Facepad

Once your new touch screen has arrived follow the instructions below

1Carefully remove the black glossy surround of the screen ( this is just stuck on and a new one will already be fitted to your replacement screen do not remove this from your new screen ) this will let you see a bit more to remove the screen

2.Remove the 4 silver covers with a small screwdriver or pointed tool (2 at the top of the case and 2 at the bottom ) and remove the 4 screws that are underneath the covers.

YOU MUST BE VERY CAREFULL AT THE NEXT STAGE

3.With real care place a small flat screwdriver or table knife between the case and the screen ( i started at one end ) and carefully levered the screen upwards there are little slots all-round the screen which help you to lever it out .There are then 2 ribbon connections joining the two halves together. The large connector is for the lcd screen and the other is the one you want that is for the touch screen and is about 5mm in width .I did not remove the lcd connector I left both parts connected during the repair

4.Once the screen is removed from the case it is possible to remove the small ribbon connection from the circuit board to do this just carefully remove the tape that holds it in position.( there is no actual push fit it just connects by being put in and rested on top then taped in place.

YOU MUST BE VERY CAREFULL AT THE NEXT STAGE

5. Now you can remove the touch screen . This is done by carefully inserting a sharp blade in between the lcd frame and the touch screen which is stuck with double sided tape and slowly releasing the screen ( be very careful not to slip and touch the lcd with your blade)

6. now you can install the new touch screen .As a trial run I tipped the lcd screen with its bottom edge resting on the worktop and then lined the touch screen with its bottom edge on the worktop then just moved it from side to side until it was symmetrical ,I then did the same again for real this time I removed the backing tape of the new screen ( I left a small strip of backing tape on the new screen where the ribbon cable goes across the underside of the screen so the ribbon did not stick to the bottom side of the screen.

7.Now reconnect the ribbon cable and tape in position (You can now turn on the unit to check that the touch screen works before final assembly )

8. if it is all working OK carefully put the screen back in the case checking as you go not to trap the small ribbon ,press the screen gently into position insert screws / caps and that’s it your done

If anyone can improve on this TUT please add to it

Pretty sure the touch screen ribbon cable is secured with a slide clip, you should release the clip before romoving the cable and slide it back after inserting the new cable.. other than that....good to go! There are some pics of the process Opening the Flytouch III Part 1

Hi,

Pics and guide was deleted from apad forum, can you upload the info here?

Thanks

Yes, I noticed that earlier when I was trying to post the link for somewhere over there who needed to get inside his.

dart? I do believe they are still using several of your pictures without your consent. Fancy a ruck...

Hi TB... hows tricks?

I did delete the pictures.

I could well believe that the admin has recovered them though. I doubt I have any rights to them..as soon as you post in a forum your 'work' becomes the property of the forum (AFAIK).
