In the hopes of being able to install phone-only apps on my tablet, I installed an app that could identify the tablet as a couple of different phones. It didn't work so I uninstalled it. However, now when I look at the Google Play website, my tablet has the name of a phone instead of the name it had when I installed Android.
I know I can change the nickname in Settings, but I'm interested in knowing how I can change the Maker and Model information that is also displayed, i.e. update the device name without using nicknames. I've tried editing build.prop and updated all mentions I could find of the phone, and then cleared the data for the Google Play app, but to no avail. Does anybody know where on Android these settings are made and how to change them?
