Root how to change rom and install kernels

Im a new gtablet user and im still trying to figure all this stuff out... first i want to know how to change my rom from vegan to another one.
Next i wanna know what is a keenel and how to install one?

to install a new ROM, follow the instructions here, starting at step 2:

a kernel is basically the program that manages the communication between your hardware and software. any ROM you install will already have a kernel included, so installing one separately is not necessary. that being said, there are advantages to custom kernels including overclocking, undervolting, use of additional accessories, etc.

installing one is the same as installing a ROM: download the .zip and flash through clockwork AFTER you flash the ROM of your choice.

Is it possible put custom kernel on rooted device with the default kernel on ZPAD T8 device?

I don't like how its acts with bettery... standby kills the battery too fast :/
