The Mate 8 comes with a custom UI from Huawei called "Emotion UI" (EMUI). It looks a lot different than most Android phones on the market. For example, the home screen doesn't have a traditional app drawer. All of the app icons are placed on the home screen, like the iPhone does.
Just like all Android phones, you can use a different home screen a.k.a. launcher. Huawei makes it a little trickier to change, but it's still possible.

- Download a launcher from Google Play (we recommend Nova Launcher)
- Open up the Settings app
- Scroll down and select Apps
- Select Advanced at the bottom
- Select Default app settings
- Select Launcher
- Pick your desired launcher from the list
