WARNING: THIS WILL REPLACE THE STOCK CLOCK, IF FOR SOME CRAZY REASON YOU WANT TO GO BACK TO THE STOCK CLOCK, MAKE SURE TO BACKUP DeskClock.apk.

For those of you who bought the LG Ally dock:

When you dock your phone it automatically loads the default android clock (DeskClock.apk).

To change what app it loads just do the following:

(This was done with "Root Explorer")

1. Download your desired app that will load when you dock your phone (I downloaded "Alarm Clock Plus" in this case, and yes, there is a free version with ads in the market)

2. Start Root Explorer and mount R/W

3. Navigate to /Data/App

4. Find the app that you just downloaded, it's usually com.[INSERT NAME HERE].apk

5. Long press on the app and select rename

6. Change it to "DeskClock.apk"

7. Long press on the now renamed app and select copy

8. Navigate to /System/App

9. Paste, and replace

10. You may receive a force close or two.

11. Reboot.

Thank my post if this helped you :)

This can also be done with ADB if you don't have Root Explorer.

I made this just for future reference, and it works with any app.
