How to choose and format a mini sd card?

My new droid only has an A8 1.2 ghz cpu - not a speed demon but it does what I need. I am going to buy a mini sd card for it but I want to know how to optimize - or at least keep from reducing - the speed.

I would like to uninstall almost all of the software on the droid and only leave the browser - Opera - in the ram and install all of the other apps on the sd card. The tablet will accept up to a 32 gb sd card. I don't need this much space so am thinking of getting an 8 or 16 gb card. Will it improve - or degrade - performance if I partition the sd card into 2 parts and install the apps in one section and leave the other section for data? If I can find a completely English bios for this I would like to flash it.

Any things I can do now to improve the performance? Do mini sd cards come with different speeds?

Hello pengyou. That's quite an operation you want to perform on that device. ;)

You'll hear a lot about which apps can be removed and which cannot unless you root (gain access to portions of the operating system closed off by the manufacturers). Depending on what device we're talking about, most come with a lot of "bloatware" included by the manufacturer and carrier. Rooting can enable the user to remove or at least "freeze" that stuff. But many stock, non-rooted devices now include the ability to "hide" and de-activate some of the junk.

I've never found sd card capacity to be a noticeable factor in the user's perceived speed of operation. What can slow things down are the choices the user makes with regard to app/widget configuration: to auto sync social networking apps/widgets, weather and news, email/Gmail, GPS and navigation, media readiness (cued music apps, etc) and so on.

Thank you. That makes sense. I have the aigo m60, a 6" tablet that I am getting more and more fond of every day. The only way it could be better is if it were a 5" tablet and had a rear facing camera. It has other weaknesses but the price compensates for those :)
