Help How to copy stuff from sd card to new one

I have a 16gb sdcard but just bought a 32gb one. How do i easily copy all my apps, video, music , over is there an app?
 
I think the easiest way would be to copy the entire contents to your computer and then paste it over to the new one. If you have an SD card reader on your computer it will be much quicker as the transfer rates are faster than using a USB cable. How much stuff do you have to copy over?

Not much im more bothered about the apps
 
AFAIK, the above method works for the apps too. Someone asked a similar question in the Wildfire S forum and they just copied the stuff across as detailed above and it worked no problem.
 
If you're concerned with the apps, perhaps the best way might be able to move the ones that are on the sd card to the internal memory which could mean less time moving everything. I would say the majority of apps are on the internal memory anyway unless you have moved them manually
 
Open the old card, highlight everything and copy it exactly as is to the new card, I just went from 8gb to 32gb using this method and it worked flawlessly. All apps worked and all data for the apps was there. Kept my old card with everything on it just in case as a backup.

really?? thats great...what about old txt messages as i dont want to lose them?

Messages are stored on the phone memory aren't they? I didn't do anything other than copying everything, when I put the new card in and started the phone all my messages were there still.
 
I guess if you were concerned about your messages you could use another message app such as GO SMS and back them up to your SD card.
 
I tried copying everything from my 8gb to 16gb via my laptop and none of the apps worked at all.
I copied everything from the 8gb into a folder in my desktop, then from the folder to the 16gb.

Am I doing something wrong???

Don't mislead other people.
A simply copy will rarely work, because of differences between Windows and Android. Android has bizarre naming conventions for folders and files that will make Windows to abort the copying process.

It's not misleading, really. I've done it countless times without issue.

The post is also nearly a year old btw, so I think if it were misleading, more people would have pointed it out by now. :)
