How to create a contact without adding to gmail?

Hello Forum,

I am new happy Android user.

I have SG S2 V 4.04 Rooted with CyanogenMod 9.1.0 (Hope I am posting in the correct forum?).

Contacts:

I like receiving my email from my gmail account but do not want to sync contacts (which I disactivated), I also do not want to add any new phone contacts to gmail. When I try to 'Add to contacts' a message says save to gmail or cancel? I hope there is a way to by pass this?

first off welcome to the forums

I am pretty sure you might have to make a Google Contact, however, if Google Sync is off it will never sync that contact to your Gmail so it shouldn't matter.
