How To: Custom Icons For Your Droid X

I apologize in advance because I'm new to all of this but what is .png files? and how do I take the icons in the picture in the link and make it into a .png file?

download the 13mb zip file at that link. it contains all the separate png image files.
 
i download it but the png files only contains four of the icons and thats it...any suggestions?...thanks in advance!!

Yes. the zip file contains 2 folders ico and png. each contains 170 files in that format. not sure what to tell you other than try re downloading the zip file again.

I downloaded it again but I still am getting only four icons per folder in the png files...going to try and figure this out...thanks again for your help tom108!
 
Thank you guys for the easy instruction on how to backup icons and for mentioning Desktop visualizer. No need for Better cut. My home screen is to my liking now. Now...how to change entire app drawer icons??? haha. I know it's tedious so I think I'm just going to leave it as is. Thanks again guys.
 
I have a ZIP file of Halloween and Christmas Icons that i tried to upload. It keeps giving me a server error...........i guess the file is too large?

I have no way of hosting it. Can someone volunteer to host it? It is 1.67mb in size. I can e-mail it to you.

BTW...........it does not show a size limit on ZIP files. Is there indeed a limit?
 
okay really stupid question. Are you using the free launcherpro or the launcherpro plus? I am trying to figure out which one I need to download so I can have some fun with my X!!!

edit: nevermind...after playing I got it. Also up graded to the pro. Man this is WAY too much fun!!
 
Anybody know where I can find the .png of the 3D looking app drawer icon for Launcherpro? It looks like the app drawer icon with the small squares but it's kind of laying on its side. I can't seem to find it.

edit: found it, guess I should try googling harder next time.
 
Thank you for your help on this. I am really new on doing this kind of stuff. I just have one question. I bought icons for crazyhome. I really don't like that program. How do I get the icons for that onto my phone so I can use them for other applications? The method you listed did not work. Is there any other way I can get the icons?? I tried all the other apps..any cut, desktop visualizer...nothing is working.
