Help How to download Phonebook on my GII

PeterRain

Lurker
In following this thread I was seeking assistance regarding how to download the Phonebook of my Samsung galaxy S2.
My Samsung Galaxy S2 (version 4.0.4) will not download the phone book to my Jeep Grand Cherokee (model 2013) with Uconnect media centre 731N (RHP). It does pair OK via bluetooth, but will not download the phone book.
I do get a message on the phone saying Uconnect wishes to access the phone book. I press OK and about 20 seconds later the same message appears. I hit OK again, and again and again each time the same message appears on the phione.
On the Media Centre screen the download transfer icon appears and shows an arrow as though download is underway, however the phone book itself does not download. The only phone numbers downloaded are those relating to the Messages function, such as Text.
My wife has a Samsung Galaxy S1 (earlier Android version) and it downloaded her phone book correctly via bluetooth no problems at all. Is it due to version 4.0.4 that the phone book will not download? Any help would be appreciated.

PeterRain, this is a forum for the very old HTC Droid Eris. I really don't know the answer o your question, but I don't think that you will get a good answer in this forum. You may be able to get better help if you post a message in the Samsung Galaxy S2 forum.

There are a number of them, depending on the carrier. You will see a list of all phones and forums here: Android Phones - Android Forums

If you get no help in the device forums, another idea, since this could be a software/hardware interface issues with uConnect, is to try the Android Accessories: Android Accessories - Android Forums

Good luck!

Why can't I download the phonebook in Samsung S2 (GT-19100) to Jeep Uconnect system (Media Centre 731N), yet my wife's Samsung S1 will download correctly?

I tried a friend's Samsung S2 (same model as mine) and that produced the same result as my S2!!

Is it due to version 4.0.4 that the phone book will not download? Any help would be appreciated as to any solution available.

Peter I moved your post here in the International section in the meantime, as this is the proper device section, please let me know which carrier you are on so I can now move it to the proper carrier section, send me a PM or simply report you thread and I will move it for you. Cheers ;)

Hi Peter and welcome to AF. I merged your new thread with this existing thread you already had on the subject. :)

I wish I could help with your question but I've never used my phone for that.

Resolved this issue after finding a thread suggesting that phone contacts be stored on the SIM card (not SD card). Transfered contacts to SIM card and when pairing the Samasung S2 once again, all phone contacts downloaded to the Jeep Uconnect system correctly.
