How to download voicemails?

Hey all! Got a question and I just know you are the crowd with my answer.

My wife's mother just passed away and my wife would like to save some voicemails. She has a Charge, rooted stock, no visual voicemail. I was thinking of maybe turning that on and see if I could capture audio files, but don't know if there's a risk of the existing messages being lost in the conversion to VVM...

Any ideas on how I can make this happen for her?

Thanks!

I'd say that with any kind of change to voicemail services there is a potential loss of those messages. So I'd not even attempt to try it myself.

The only safe way that I can think of is to get an audio cable with the pin on both ends. Plug one end into the Droid Charge's headphone jack and the other into your computer's microphone jack. Find the Voice Recorder program on your computer and then start the playback of the voicemails while you record the output on your computer. Seems a bit hack-ish but I'd say that that would be the one 100% safe way of getting the voicemails.

Oh, and sorry for your family's loss. It's never good to lose a loved one.

Thanks trparky, I appreciate the assistance!

After doing some digging, your way seems like the best solution. It appears apps to record calls are not so good on Android (strange, seems like this would be a stock ability of the phone app).

Thanks again!

I had called VW support on this issue a while back. they said that there is a third party company that can send you the voicemails. not sure of the cost if any, never went thru with it wasnt that important. Maybe call and see if that option would be aval.
Good luck
Sorry for your loss.
