Help how to edit contact file

Hi,

I had old Sony W200 phone which has different format to store contacts. When I exported my phone book (CSV file) from that phone and imported in my LG Optimus One P500, I got multiple contacts, one for each number for same contact. e.g. I had contact ZZZ with mobile number, office number and home number. Now when I imported in my LG Optimus, I got 3 contacts with name like ZZZ/M , ZZZ/O and ZZZ/H. There is join contact facility in Optimus and when I join them, I can see all 3 numbers at single place but internally it seems that there are 3 different entries.

When I open that joined contact in edit mode, I can see 3 entry and each entry has one number. I wish I can have just one entry with all 3 numbers.

I did backup of all contacts and got VCF file. I opened it in text editor and I can see that there are 3 entries with BEGIN:VCARD and END:VCARD and I guess that's why I see 3 entries in edit mode.

I used utility like GO Contact to remove duplicates but it didn't work as all contact name are different (suffix with /M or /O etc.)

I want to know where exactly contacts are stored in seem. Where can I just open contact file and do find replace /M with nothing. That way I can have same name and then can merge them.

Please help. My address book is very clutter with so many contacts.

Hello,

After searching some post, I learned tool called "Contact Analyzer 2". It resolved my issue. It has very good capability for merging and deleting duplicate contacts.
