Root How to Enable Dev. Settings

Google has taken the trouble to hide developer settings for general use, we can probably see why.
To see the beloved settings again:
Settings > About phone > Tap the build number 7 times

7 is the magic number.

The Developer settings will be where they normally are at the bottom of the main settings menu.

What are the developer settings, and what do they allow?

Oh tonnes of things, most importantly for the everyday user is the ability to turn on USB debugging without which you can't unlock your bootloader or root the phone.

Some other useful features are being able to limit what apps can do in the background, useful if you want to find out why your device is slow, the ability to close apps as you leave them, keep your device on always awake when charging, show where you've touched the device (if you record anything on it) and many more.

Before I looked to the left and saw that you were from the UK, the spelling of tonnes gave it away. :D

Thank you for the explanation.
